Abstract:To accurately analyze the horizontal displacement of the diaphragm walland surface setlement,a systematic study on the deformation of the foundation pit was conducted using numerical simulation combined with field measurement method.A 3-dimensional finite element model of the foundation pit excavation was established,adopting a modified Cambridge constitutive model to calculate the horizontal displace-ment of the diaphragm wall and the surface setlement outside the pit by the foundation pit excavation. The Pasternak 2- parameters model was introduced,the bending diferential equation was derived,the finite diference method was used to calculate the horizontal displacement of the diaphragm wall The numerical simulation results were compared with the field measurement data and the theory calculation results to verify the numerical simulation. The numerical simulation method was used to further investigate the influence of the diaphragm wall and internal supports,etc on horizontal displacement and surface setlement. The research results show that increasing the thickness of the diaphragm wall,the elastic modulus of the diaphragm wall,steel support diameter could effectively reduce the horizontal displacementof the diaphragm walland surface settement.The deformationof the foundation pit exhibits significant spatial effects,within 20m from the corner of the pit,the horizontal displacement of the diaphragm wall and surface settlement increase with the distance from the corner of the pit; within 20-100m ,the horizontal displacement and surface settlement remain unchanged.
