Abstract:Inthe193Os,newpoetryinChinaandVietnamflourishedamidstthecollsionofWesternliterarytrendsandlocal culturalreforsresetingopletelyfntppeaacefrolsscaletryurigtisriodothoutriesptyply absorbeddiverseculturalnutrientsandformedunique modernpoetrystyles.ThisarticleanalyzeshowChineseandVietnamesepoetry integratestraditionalChineseculture,Westermodetought,andlocalculturalcharacteristicsfromamulticulturalperspectie vealingtheinteractionandinovationetweentetoountries‘poetryinthisstage.SpecificallyChnesepoetryotolyinr itstheartisticonceptionoflasicalpoetrybutalsodawsonWestersymbolismandromanticism.TheVietameseNewPoetrywas accompaniedbythepromotionofLatinized Vietnameselanguage,expressngnationalliberationdemandsthroughromanticismand symbolism.Bothcountries’poetrreflectsontheConfuciantradition.Inaddition,theintroductionof Westernreligiouscultureandindustrial civilizationwritingfurtherenrichedthemodernconotationofpoetry.Atthesametime,rural writinghasbecomeacommon focusofattntionforoetsfrombothcoutrs:Vietamesepoetrystrengthensnatioalaestheticsthroughregionallandscapes,hile Chinese poetry explores rural values through pastoral and social criticism.
