Title：Five Dimensions of Translator's Motivation in Translating Ancient Chinese Poetry into English

Abstract： Based on the research background of the English translation of Chinese classics， this study takes the translator’s motivation for the English translation of ancient Chinese poetry as the main investigation object， conducts quantitative analysis on the key words of the translator’s motivation research，and distinguishes them according to their correlation degrees. On this basis，the study categorizes the research on the translator’s motivation in the English translation of ancient Chinese poetry into five dimensions： individual traits， individual consciousness and cognition， identity and social relations， situational factors and external environment， and each dimension is reviewed in detail.Finally， the deficiencies of the existing research are briefly evaluated and analyzed， and the key contents and expansion directions in future research are expounded.
