Title: The Contemporary Return of Persephone: The Female Writing in Louise Gluck's Averno
Abstract: The poetry collection Averno by Louise Gluick takes the story of Persephone in ancient Greek mythology as the core, and connects the l8 poems into an organic whole. However, the Persephone constructed by Gluick in the poetry collection is fundamentally different from the Persephone in ancient Greek mythology. Gluick rewrote Persephone's story in her poems and reconstructed the discourse power and subjectivity of Persephone and the female group like Persephone. The process of reconstructing Persephone is actually the process of reconstructing female discourse in the contemporary context, which aims to resist the Western traditional malecentered writing mode and reconstruct contemporary female writing.
