Continuous commutation failure suppression strategy for weak receiver HVDC transmission system

Abstract:In order to suppress the continuous phase change failure of weakly terminated high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system,a strategy for suppressing the continuous phase change failure of weakly terminated HVDC transmisson system based on virtual resistive-inductive control method was proposed.The function of low voltage current limiting control strategy was analyzed to inhibit phase change failure,the principle and function of virtual resistance currnt limiting control method and virtual inductance current limiting control method were analyzed to inhibit phase change failure according to the principle of resistor and inductor current limiting,the control method of high voltage DC power transmission system phase change failure was put forward based on virtual resistance and inductance,and the command value of DC side current and the calculation formula of DC voltage and DC current in virtual resistance and inductance control method were deduced,and the method of calculating and adjusting virtual resistance and virtual inductance in virtual resistance and inductance control method were put forward. The formulae of DC voltage and DC current were derived,and the method of virtual resistance and inductance calculation was proposed in the virtual resistance and inductance control method. PSCAD/EMTDC is utilized to establish a weakly terminated Yongfu high-voltage DC transmission system model,and the proposed virtual resistive-inductive phase change failure suppresson strategy was simulated and verified, and the simulation results show that the proposed virtual resistive-inductive phase change failure suppression strategy is effctive in suppressing the successive phase change failures of the weakly terminated high-voltage DC transmission system.
