Modeling of low-frequency conducted electromagnetic interference in high-voltage motor drive systems for aviation applications

Abstract:To address the challenge of low-frequency conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) modeling for high-voltage motor drive systems in aviation applications,a modeling approach for common-mode and differential-mode noise in pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters was proposed. Through quantitative analysis and simulation,the relationship between harmonic components of common-mode and diferential-mode noise and the inverter modulation ratio(which is positively correlated with motor speed)was thoroughly investigated. The model was validated experimentally on a 27O V/1.5 kW high-voltage motor drive prototype.The results indicate that the discrepancy between the experimental data and the simulation results is less than 6 dB,confirming the accuracy of the model in reflecting low-frequency conducted noise characteristics. This study provides a theoretical basis for optimizing the design of EMI filters in inverter power lines,contributes to reducing filter size,and enhances system power density.It also offers significant insights for the electromagnetic compatibility design of aviation motor drive systems.
