Effects of Magnesium Sulfate Foliar Application on the Potato Yield

Abstract:Thisstudyinvestigatedtheefectof magnesiumonthepotatoyieldsoas toprovideabasisforthescientific applicationofagnesiumfertilizerinpotatoproductio.Usingtwopotatovarieties,Zhuangshu3andQingshu10,4treatmentswere established:flarsprayingofmagnesiumsulfateat.05,1.50,and1.95kg/ha,andanequalamountofwaterasontrol.fectsf thesetreatmentsonplantheight,marketabletuberratioandyieldwereanalyzedResultsshowedthatfolarapplicationofagesium sulfatesignificantlypromotedplantheightandimprovedbothyieldandtheproportionofmarketabletubers.The.5Og/atreatment showedthe highestvaluesinbothZhuanglangandWeiyuanexperimentalsites,withyieldsof28667.17kg/haand5723.39kg/ha, representing yield increases of 6 . 7 % and 5 . 5 % over the water control,respectively.The marketable tuber ratios were 8 4 . 3 % and 7 6 . 9 % ,respectively,whichwere9.4and9.2percentagepointshigherthanthecontrol.Therefore,foliarapplicationof1.50kg/ha magnesiumsulfateismorefavorableforincreasing plantheight,marketabletuberrate,andyieldof potatoes in Zhuanglangand Weiyuan Counties,and is recommended for promotion in potato production.
