Effects of Magnesium Sulfate Foliar Application on the Potato Yield

Abstract：Thisstudyinvestigatedtheefectof magnesiumonthepotatoyieldsoas toprovideabasisforthescientific applicationofagnesiumfertilizerinpotatoproductio.Usingtwopotatovarieties，Zhuangshu3andQingshu10，4treatmentswere established：flarsprayingofmagnesiumsulfateat.05，1.50，and1.95kg/ha，andanequalamountofwaterasontrol.fectsf thesetreatmentsonplantheight，marketabletuberratioandyieldwereanalyzedResultsshowedthatfolarapplicationofagesium sulfatesignificantlypromotedplantheightandimprovedbothyieldandtheproportionofmarketabletubers.The.5Og/atreatment showedthe highestvaluesinbothZhuanglangandWeiyuanexperimentalsites，withyieldsof28667.17kg/haand5723.39kg/ha， representing yield increases of 6 . 7 % and 5 . 5 % over the water control，respectively.The marketable tuber ratios were 8 4 . 3 % and 7 6 . 9 % ，respectively，whichwere9.4and9.2percentagepointshigherthanthecontrol.Therefore，foliarapplicationof1.50kg/ha magnesiumsulfateismorefavorableforincreasing plantheight，marketabletuberrate，andyieldof potatoes in Zhuanglangand Weiyuan Counties，and is recommended for promotion in potato production.
