Abstract:Litter decomposition provides nutrients for soil and is amajor contributor to soil organic matter formation.In this paper,189 sets of valid data were collected from 3O literatures published in grassland ecosystems, and the efects of warming on liter decomposition in terrestrial ecosystems were studied by meta-analysis.The results showed that decomposition rate of liter Was significantly increased when the temperature range was less than ( ), but decreased when the temperature range was more than . Annual mean precipitation (MAP)could regulate the effects of warming on litter decomposition,and low annual mean precipitation ( ? ) could promote litter decomposition under warming,high annual precipitation ( )inhibited liter decomposition.Inaddition,soil organisms and litter mass alsohad different effects on liter decomposition.The appropriate soil organisms )could promote litter decomposition,and the higher the litter matrix quality was,the higher theliter mass was the faster the literdecompositionrate.The above results indicated that temperature increase would significantly afect liter decomposition,and the magnitude and direction of the influence were related to the average annual precipitation,soil biology and litter quality.
