The Decision and Implementation of the Advance of the Third Division of the New Fourth Army into Northeast China after Victory in the War of Resistance

Abstract：After the victory in the National Warof Resistance，the CPC established the strategic principle of“advancing northward， defending southward，”with a particular emphasis on developing Northeast China.With respect to one of the main forces marching into the Northeast，the Third Division of the NewFourth Army， the CPC Central Committeeengaged in frequent communications with the Central China Bureau， the Northeast Bureau，and the Shandong Sub-Bureau about troop movements and combat priorities. Facing challenging situations upon entering theNortheast，the Third Division，under the leadershipofthe Central Commitee，undertook the task of establishing base areas.Through extensive interactions acrossmultiple levels of the CPC， the Third Division successfully advanced into the Northeast and became a crucial force in the development of the region.
