【Abstract】Objective To investigate the causes of wet packages during the sterilization of external medical devices in the sterilization supplycenterofourhospitaland toimplement method improvements.MethodsA total of 680 packs of external medical devices received by the sterilization supply centerofour hospital from July 2023 to June 2024 were selected as thestudy samples.These were randomly divided into contol groupand experimental group.By analyzing thecauses of wet packs in the control group during the sterilization process，corresponding improvements were made in theexperimental group to ensure thequalityof disinfectionandsterilizationof external medical devices.ResultsAmong the 68O packages of external medical devices，34（ 10.00% ） in the control group exhibited wet packages，while 9 （2.65 % ） in the experimental group showed wet packages. ConclusionThe occurrence of wet packs in external medical devices in the sterilization supply center is atributed to multiplefactors， including thedevices themselves，personnel operations at various stages，equipment performance，and sterilization program setings.The sterilization supply center should implement improvements，refine operational procedures at each stage，enhancethe ability to predictthe riskof wet packs，reduce the incidence of wet packages，improve the overall work quality ofthedepartment，and ensure the sterilization safety of external medical devices.
