Self-management of autogenous arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients：a summary of the best evidence

Abstract Objective：To summarize the best evidence on self-management of autogenous arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients.Methods：Evidence about self-management of autologous arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients，including clinical decision-making，clinical guidelines，evidence summary，systematic evaluation，expert consensus，etc.，were retrieved from evidence-based decision support system，guideline database，relevant guideline publishing websites，and Chinese and English medical databases.The retrieval deadline is from of the database to February 28，2023. The evidence-based team extracted，summarized，and evaluated the quality of the literature.Results：A total of 37 articles were included，including 6 guidelines，3 expert consensus articles，2 systematic reviews，4 clinical decision-making articles，3 evidence summaries，and 19 randomized controlled trials. A total of 7 themes were summarized according to the opinions of clinical professionals，including monitoring of arteriovenous fistula and physical examination，assessment of arteriovenous fistula，health education，education and training of relevant personnel，standardized use of puncture arteriovenous fistula，application of reasonable nursing management methods，and ‘Internet +’ continuous care，involving 37 pieces of evidence.Conclusions：The best evidence for the self-management of autologous arteriovenous fistula could provide a reference for effectively prolonging the use time of autologous arteriovenous fistula，improving the self-management ability and quality of life of patients with arteriovenous fistula.
