Application of Ginkgo in Pingliang and Considerations for Economic Cultivation

Abstract： Ginkgo biloba，a national treasure-level multipurpose tre species with medicinal，edible，and ornamental value， has been widelycultivated in Pingliang，Gansu Province.Basedonyearsofcultivationtrialsand practices，keyconsiderations fortheeconomiccultivationof ginkgoformedicinaloredible purposes includeselecting highqualityseedlings，planting insuitable locations，adopting moderate planting density，pairing with appropriatepolinating cultivars，appying rational fertilization，controling watertoinhibit excessve growth，andscientificallyshapingand prunng tovigorouslydevelopginkgoeconomiccultivation，providehighqualityrawmaterialsforpharmaceuticalprocesingandkernelsales，and promotethehighquality development of the ginkgo industry.
