Determination and Analysis of Leaf Functional Traits of Four Ningxia Wolfberry Cultivars

Abstract:【Objective】Toexplore theadaptabilityof diferent cultivars ofNingxia wolfberr totheenvironmentand clarifythediffrences inleaffunctionaltraitsamong various varietiesunderthesamesiteconditions.【Methods】Thisexperiment usedfour maincultivarsofNingxia wolfberry(Ningqi1,Ningqi5,Ningqi7,andNingqiO)plantedintheexperimentalfarm of Ningxia Universityasexperimentalmaterials.Themainfunctionaltraitsoftheirleavesweremeasured,andthediferences inleaf orphologicalindicators,relativechlorophyllcontent,photosyntheticcharacteristics,andotherfunctionaltraitsamong diferentcultivars were analyzedandcompared.【Results】:TheresultsshowedthattheleaffunctionaltraitsofthefourcultivarsexhibitedsignificantdiferencesinmorphologicalandphotosyntheticcharacteristicsSpecificaly,leafthickness,leaf length,andrelativechlorophyllcontentshowedhighlysignificantdiferences;leafarea,leafdrymatercontent,andinstantaneous water useeficiency exhibited significant diferences;whereas leaf width,specificleaf area,transpirationrate,and photosynthetic rate did not show significant differences.Ningqi7and Ningqi1O had larger leaf thickness values(1 ?430mm and 0.916mm ,respectively),smaller specific leaf area values and 8637.93cm2?g-1 ,respectively),and higher leaf dry matter contents (0.231g?g-1 and 0.184g?g-1 , respectively). In contrast,Ningqi l and Ningqi 5 had smallerleaf thicknessvaluesandlargerspecificleafarea values.【Conclusion】Theexperimentalresults provideareferenceforthe variety selection and eficient cultivation of Ningxia wolfberry.
