Abstract:Research on the factors influencing sports participation holds significant value for the development of nationwide fitness activities and the building of China into a leading sporting nation, contributing to the achievement of the Healthy China goal. This study utilizes CiteSpace software to conduct a visual analysis of relevant literature from the CNKI and Web of Science core collections. The study finds that the volume of related literature abroad has predated and surged earlier than China. Focused on the“health factors”,the relevant studies abroad have gained stable and continuous growth. Most of them place emphasis on the predisposing factors of changes in sports participation behavior;domestic studies follow the national sports strategy and policies closely. The majority of them emphasize the contributing factors of changes in sports participation behavior. Adolescents and the elderly are the common focus groups on factors influencing sports participation research both in China and abroad. The study abroad focused more on the risk perception factors and physical environmental factors in substance use, while“model”,“ support”, “substance use”and “ risk”being cutting - edge topics in research on influencing factors. Domestically, there is greater focus on policy factors, with sports policy, school sports reform, and collborative governance becoming research hot spots.“ Home - school - community collaborative governance” has emerged as a common focus in research both at home and abroad. The interaction of multiple factors is a future trend in sports participation research. It is recommended to enhance the multidisciplinary and intercultural collaboration in the future. If the interactive research of multilevel factors are deepened and the implementation of policies are optimized, then the goals of improving sports participation will be realized.
