克孜爾壁畫“佛說香身骸骨緣”考

內(nèi)容摘要：克孜爾石窟券頂菱格中有一類佛說法圖，描繪世尊對一位王者說法。佛座下方有一身禪定骷髏。參考《鼻奈耶》，壁畫內(nèi)容可辨識為“佛說香身骸骨緣”。圖像再現(xiàn)波斯匿王尋香，香身辟支佛遺骸示現(xiàn)，香氣彌漫之景。

A Study on the Murals Depicting the“Story of the Fragrant Skeleton”in the Kizil Grottoes

Abstract：In the diamond-shaped panels on the vaulted ceilings of the Kizil Caves there is a type of preaching scene depicted in which the Buddha is preaching to a king， while a skeleton sits in meditation below the throne of the Buddha. By referring to the Vinaya， the theme of these murals has been identified as the“Story of the Incense Skeleton.” These paintings reproduce the scene of King Prasenajit seeking for the source of a miraculous fragrance; when the fragrant skeleton of the Pratyekabuddha is discovered， the palace is filled with a wonderful scent.
