Abstract: Social media data isanimportant memoryresource inthedigital age,butits fragmentation,decentralization andothercharacteristics makeitdiffcult tofulldevelopitsmemoryvalue.Therefore,thisarticleproposesaframework for constructing social mediaarchivalmemoryofmajorandserious incidents basedondatanarative,andexplores ways toutilize social media data of major and serious incidents to construct archival memory with meaningful transmision and identity generation functions.Byselecting the majorand serious incidentsof“RainstormandFlood Disasterin the Northeastern China in EarlyAugust 2023,, as a case,this article empirically examines the feasibility and effectiveness of the framework, and summarizes the appoaches of applying social mediadata narrative to the constructionof archival memoryof major and seriousicidentsfromthreeaspectsofcontent,methodofconstruction,ndefect.Thisstudyaims toprovideinsightsintothe theoreticalresearchandpractical explorationofnarativedevelopmentofsocial mediadataof majorandserious incidents asa native digital memoryresoure,andto broaden the research perspective ofarchival memoryconstructionin the digitalage.
