Correlation between care satisfaction and caring relationship of conscious patients in ICU

Abstract  Objective：To explore the correlation between care satisfaction and caring relationship of conscious patients in ICU，and to provide basis for formulating targeted humanistic care strategies.Methods：A total of 728 conscious patients in ICU from tertiary A hospitals in Hubei province，Henan province，Heilongjiang province，Guizhou province，from Nov.to Dec.2022 were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method，using general data questionnaire，Methodist Health Care System Nursing Caring Instrument，Relational Caring Questionnaire-Patient Form.The correlation between caring relationship and caring satisfaction was analyzed by hierarchical regression.The correlation between caring relationship and caring satisfaction was analyzed by hierarchical regression.Results：The total score of patients' care satisfaction in ICU was （105.16±17.80），and the average score was （5.26±0.89）.The patients' age，education level，family income per month and the way of hospitalization payment affected the care satisfaction（P<0.05）.Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between the nursing care satisfaction of ICU patients and the dimensions of relational care.Hierarchical regression analysis showed that the explanatory rate of caring relationship affecting caring satisfaction of ICU patients was 35.6%（P<0.001），among which caring dimension and trust dimension positively predicted caring satisfaction（P<0.05）.Conclusion：The score of ICU patients' care satisfaction is above the average level.The construction of caring relationship between conscious patients in ICU and nurse can affect care satisfaction.It is suggested that we should pay attention to establishing caring nurse?patient relationship with patients in ICU clinical work，and take targeted measures according to different care needs of patients，so as to meet the care needs of ICU patients and improve their care satisfaction.
