Abstract: To enhance the irigation strategies for Hakuto'peach orchards in mountainous regions by assessingthe effcts ofvarious irrigation techniques and volumes ontree growth,photosynthetic properties,fruit quality, and wateruse eficiency,a comparative analysis was conducted using 1O - year-old Hakuto'peach trees under diffrent irigationregimes.The findings indicated that drip irrigationoutperformed flood irrgationin termsof promoting tree growth,photosynthesis,and improving fruit qualityand wateruse eficiency.With increasing irrigation volumes,the shoot length,girth,single fruit weight,and fruit diameter increased. Conversely,the net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,stomatal conductance,and intercellular CO concentration initially rose and then declined.The intrinsic fruit quality,including soluble solids,soluble sugars,and vitamin Ccontent decreased with higher irrigation volume,while water use efficiency exhibiteda negative correlation with irigation volume.There was no significant variation in leaf area among the irigation treatments.Balancing fruit quality,tree vigor and irrigation efficiency,the F2W1 treatment (drip irrigation at per plant per watering)is the optimal irrigation practice for 1O -year -old Hakuto‘peach trees.
