The Impact of Digital Investment on Organizational Complex Adaptability from the Perspective of Dissipative Structures

Abstract：Inresponse toanincreasinglycomplexandvolatileexternal environment，itisimperativeforenterprises to effectivelyenhancetheirorganizationalcomplexadaptability，which isessential forsustaininganinternalimpetus for innovationandachieving high-qualitydevelopment.Drawing upondata from Chinese A-share listedcompanies on the Shanghaiand Shenzhen stock exchangesspanning theperiod from 2013 to2O22，thisstudy empiricallinvestigates the influenceofdigital investmentonorganizationalcomplexadaptabilitythroughthelensof disipativestructures theory. Researchfindings：digitalinvestmentcansignificantlyenhanceanenterprise'sorganizationalcomplexadaptabilitywhileits organizational absorptivecapacityand embeddingcapacityserveaspositivemoderating factors inthis relationship.The mediation mechanism testindicates that digital investmentcan enanceanenterprise'sorganizationalcomplexadaptability byfostering theemergenceof internalinnovationwithinit.Theheterogeneityanalysis indicates thatuncertaintywithinboth the micro-operatingand macro-policy environments generates a "reverse pressure"onthe main efect，therebyaccentuating thepositive influenceof digital investmentonorganizationalcomplexadaptability.The evaluationof economicoutcomes demonstratesthatdigitalinvestmentcanaugmentorganizationalcomplexadaptabilityconsequentlyfosteringhgh-quality development within enterprises.The research findings provide areference for Chinese enterprises tobolster their intrinsic developmental momentum through the enhancement of their organizational complex adaptability.
