Abstract:Thisessay examines theimpactofdigital transformationontotal factorproductivitybyanalyzing ChineseAshare listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen spaningthe period from 2O13 to 2O22,employing a chain mediation effct model within the framework of a comprehensive innovation chain perspective for empirical analysis.Research findings:digital transformationexertsasignificant positiveimpactontotal factor productivity,asevidencedbythree distinctpathways:"digital transformation—innovationinvestmenttotalfactorproductivity","digitaltransformation innovationperformance—total factorproductivity",and"digital transformation—innovationinvestment—innovation performance—total factorproductivity".Furtheranalysisreveals thatinternal controland specializationserveaspartial mediator in therelationship between digital transformationand innovationperformance within these pathways.Moreover, theimpactofdigitaltransformationontotalfactorproductivityexhibitsheterogeneityacrossvariablessuchasfirmsize, industrycharacteristics,andregional disparities.Theresearch findingsare crucial for enhancingcorporate innovation capabilities and fostering high-quality economic development.
