Abstract  Objective：To translate Pulmonary Rehabilitation Adapted Index of Self?Efficacy（PRAISE） into Chinese and to test its reliability and validity in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease（COPD） patients.Methods：The scale was translated according to the Brislin translation model.The scale was adjusted by expert consultation and pre?investigation.A total of 326 COPD patients were selected for investigation by convenient sampling method in order to test its reliability and validity.Results：The item?level content validity index（I?CVI） of the Chinese version of PRAISE were from 0.86 to 1.00，and the average scale?content validity index（S?CVI/Ave） was 0.96.Exploratory factor analysis extracted three common factors，and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 59.725%.The Chi?square degree of freedom ratio（χ2/ν） of the modified model was 1.463，the normal of fit index（NFI） was 0.926，the Goodness of Fit Index（GFI） was 0.941，the incremental fit index（IFI） was 0.975，the comparative fit index（CFI） was 0.975，and the root mean square error of approximation（RMSEA） was 0.046，the Cronbach's α coefficient of Chinese version of PRAISE was 0.896.The final Chinese version of PRAISE contained 13 indicators.Conclusions：The Chinese version of PRAISE has good reliability and validity in China，and can be used as a tool to evaluate self?efficacy of COPD patients in pulmonary rehabilitation.
