Effect of loading rate on the shear performance of ACC structures

Abstract:Theshear mechanical propertiesanddeformationdamage mechanismof thedouble structural planesof traditional anchor cables and new anchor cables with C-shaped tube structures (abbreviated as ACC)under different loadingrate conditions were investigated through experimentaland numerical simulation analyses.Dual structural face shear tests were conducted at shear displacement loading rates of 2,10,20,30,and 40mm/min under 55 MPa concrete specimen strength and 200kN preload,with shear deformationcurves,peak structural shear loads,steel wire damage patterns,and structural plane shearstrengthcontributionsasthemain parametersconsidered.Theresultsshowthattheloadingratesignificantlyaffects the shear performanceofthestructure.Withinacertain loadingrate interval,influenced bythedamageaccumulationrateand the strainrate strengthening effect,thestructureexhibitscharacteristicsofstrength weakeningandstrengthening,respectively, withalarge variation interval in shear load-carrying capacity.Near the structural plane,thesupport structure showsa combinationof tensile and shear damage.However,the ACC structure,due to the presence of the C-shaped tube,exhibits lowe stressconcentration effects,reducedfuctuation inthe testcurve,andsignificantly weakened interal steel wire damage comparedto traditional anchorcables.Meanwhile,the numerical modelof the double shear test of the ACC structure, constructedbasedonthetestresults,exhibitshighacuracy.Numericalsimulationsofdynamicloadingtestsdemonstratethat theanchoringsystemformedbytheACCstructurehasagoodenergyabsorptionefect,whichbecomesmorepronouncedwith increasingimpactenergy.Underhigh-speedimpact,theACCstructureissignificantlyafectedbythestrainratereinforcement effect,with higher shear load capacity at greater impact velocities.
