【Abstract】:Aimingattheenvironmental problemsof asphalt materials intheconstructionofhighways,this paperinvestigates the microscopic characterization of the multifunctional asphalt modifier WAEMand its action mechanism in emission reduction,temperature reduction,air purification and flame retardancy.The microstructure and chemical stability of WAEM modified asphalt were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and diferential scanning calorimetry(DSC).Theresults showed that WAEM-modified asphalt reducethe harmful gas emissions during the mixing process;the modifier can reduce the pavement temperature by nearly5 ,and reduce the nitrous oxide gas emissions by 80% , and has a 25% combustion time reduction effect.
