Summary of best evidence for bowel preparation in patients before gynecological surgery

Abstract Objective：To search the relevant evidence of bowel preparation before gynecological surgery and summarize it into the best evidence.Methods：PIPOS tool was used to clarify the research question.To collect relevant evidence on the methods and management of bowel preparation before gynecological surgery from NICE，RNAO，UpToDate，BMJ Best Practice，Web of Science，the Cochrane Library，PubMed，CINHAL，CBM，CNKI，WanFang Database and Yimaitong.The retrieval time was from the inception to June 2023，and literature meeting the criteria were selected.Results：A total of 7 articles were included，including 2 articles were systematic reviews and 5 articles were expert consensuses.The 12 pieces of best evidence of preoperative bowel preparation for gynecological surgery were summarized from three aspects：preoperative evaluation，diet nursing and traditional Chinese bowel preparation.Conclusion：The evidence of preoperative bowel preparation for gynecological surgery is summarized to provide clinical basis and reference for clinical nurses to guide preoperative bowel preparation for gynecological surgery patients.
