Abstract:[Purpose/Significance]PublicLibraryManagementbyTsengShu-HsienfromTaiwan,ChinaandPracticeofPublicLibrary Management by Qiu Guanhua from Chinese mainlandarerepresentative works on public librarymanagement inrecent years. Thispaperaimstoexplorethefocusesof publiclibrarymanagementonbothsidesof theTaiwanStraitbyacomparativestudyon these twobooks.Metod/ProcessBycomparingandanalzingtheircontentandructure,featuresandinnovations,applicablitand targereadershiptc.tesimlaritisanddiferencsinpublilrarymanagementconcptsetweCrossStraitwilleidtfid. [Results/Conclusios]Thecomparsonoftesetwoboksrevealscomonconcemsamong profesionals:specific libraryoperatisare nolongerhecorefocusofpubliclibrarymanagement;strategic managementisincreasinglyimportant;humanresourcemanageentis akeyaspect;andpubliclibarymanagementrequirestheparticipatioofsocialforces.Themaindiferences liein:vartinsire sponsibilitymanagementandqualitymanagementconcepts;diferentperceptionsof integratingbusinessmanagementthinking;and differing awareness of innovation.
